Spring

Spring is a work I composed for Brass Band, that depicts the subtle changes in flora throughout the change of season.
The work begins with a quartet, and a simple melody based on a major scale. As the work develops, the band takes this melody throughout different keys, textures, and timbres, culminating in a brilliant flourish at the climax of the work. An expressive euphonium solo is a notable feature in this piece, and the soprano has many changes to sing out on top of the ensemble.
